Aliant Telecom Inc.
Reference: Aliant Telecom tariff notices (TNs) 8 and 8A, Island Tel TNs 567 and 567A, MTT TNs 814 and 814A, NBTel TNs 878 and 878A and NewTel TNs 667 and 667A

Enhanced local calling features

1.

The Commission received applications by Aliant Telecom Inc. (Aliant Telecom) dated 18 February 2002 and revised on 20 and 26 February 2002, on behalf of itself, Island Telecom Inc. (Island Tel), Maritime Tel & Tel Limited (MTT), NBTel Inc. (NBTel) and NewTel Communications Inc. (NewTel) to transfer the following tariff items to Aliant Telecom General Tariff item 304, Enhanced Local Calling Features:

- Island Tel General Tariff item 800.5(b);
- MTT General Tariff items 1600.5(e) and 1600.6(b);
- NBTel General Tariff items 200.2D and 216.2; and
- NewTel General Tariff items 50.18(c) and 385.3.3.

Aliant Telecom also proposed to increase the rate to $0.70 per use of each of the following features:

- call return (last call);
- call return (busy);
- three way calling; and
- name that number features.

Aliant Telecom further proposed to increase the monthly maximum charge for use of the following features from $6 to $7:

- call return (last call);
- call return (busy); and
- three way calling.

Aliant Telecom also proposed to increase the monthly maximum charge for the TalkMail service in New Brunswick from $6 to $7.

The Commission approved the applications on an interim basis in Ex parte application, Telecom Order CRTC 2002-137, 8 April 2002.

6.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the applications.

7.

The Commission approves on a final basis Aliant Telecom's applications.
