Telecom Order CRTC 2002-269

Ottawa, 11 July 2002

People's Telephone Company of Forest Inc.
Reference: Tariff notice 40

Upgrade of two-party lines to single-party lines

The Commission received an application by People's Telephone Company of Forest Inc. (People's), dated 6 May 2002, to revise General Tariff section 100, Exchange Service, in order to upgrade all two-party line services to single-party line services.

Cable plant and remote switching facilities have been installed throughout People's exchanges in order to provide single-party line service to all customers. People's proposed to upgrade current two-party line services to single-party line services at no charge to customers. A customer would be charged for single-party line service when its upgrade is completed.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission approves People's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.

People's is to issue forthwith revised tariff pages to reflect these changes.
