Telecom Order CRTC 2002-258

Ottawa, 4 July 2002

MTS Communications Inc.
Reference: Tariff notice 478

Voice processing service

1.

The Commission received an application by MTS Communications Inc., dated
18 April 2002, to revise item 9720, Voice Processing Service, of its Supplementary Tariff - Special Services and Facilities, in order to provide for an additional service option for MessageManager.

2.

MessageManager provides customers with the capability of receiving, sending and storing voice messages in an electronic mailbox. The existing rate structure for MessageManager provides customers with mailboxes at a rate that varies with the volume of mailboxes that are taken by the customers.

3.

The proposed service option offers new and existing customers who subscribe to 2001 or more mailboxes a reduction of $0.50 per month per mailbox. As part of this option, the company proposed to waive the $25.00 service charge per mailbox for the initial installation of 2001 or more mailboxes, and any subsequent installation of mailboxes. Customers must subscribe to an 18-month contract to be eligible for this service option.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves MTS' application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
