Telecom Order CRTC 2002-219

Ottawa, 29 May 2002

Aliant Telecom Inc.
Reference: NBTel tariff notice 873

Enhanced automatic call distribution service

The Commission received an application by Aliant Telecom Inc. (Aliant Telecom), dated 28 January 2002, on behalf of NBTel Inc. (NBTel), to revise NBTel's General Tariff item 170.2, Enhanced Business Communications Service, in order to increase the monthly rate for each enhanced automatic call distribution (ACD) service call processing queue from $150 to $170. The proposed increase will align the services across Aliant Telecom's serving territory.

The ACD service is offered to call-centre operations. The ACD service places incoming calls into a processing queue and distributes each incoming call to a call-centre agent when an agent becomes available to handle a call. The service also includes a standard recorded greeting that callers hear while they wait in the processing queue.

The Commission approved the application on an interim basis in Ex parte application, Telecom Order CRTC 2002-81, 14 February 2002.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The Commission approves on a final basis the application by Aliant Telecom. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
