Ottawa, 22 May 2002 |

TELUS Communications Inc. |
Not sufficient funds cheque charge |
1. |
The Commission denies the application by TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI), dated 5 April 2002, requesting approval to amalgamate the former TCI General Tariff Item 105 and TELUS Communications (B.C.) Inc. (TCBC) General Tariff Item 20 into TCI General Tariff Item 125 - Not Sufficient Funds (NSF) Cheque Charge. |
2. |
In its application, TCI proposed to adopt the current NSF cheque charge of $15 approved by the Commission for TCBC. TCI noted that this would result in a $5 increase of the NSF cheque charge for customers in its Alberta serving territory. |
3. |
The Commission notes that TCI did not provide a price cap summary for the former TCI to reflect the proposed increase of the NSF cheque charge. The price cap summary is required, as NSF cheque charges fall into the Other Capped services sub-basket under the price cap regulatory regime. The Commission also notes that TCI provided no cost justification in its application to support the proposed charge. |
