Telecom Order CRTC 2002-189

Ottawa, 13 May 2002

Bell Canada
Reference: Tariff notice 6666

Revised service charges associated with KeyPak high speed bundles

The Commission approves the application by Bell Canada, dated 8 April 2002, to amend General Tariff item 685, KeyPak, to revise the service charges for certain starter kit options. Bell Canada will no longer be offering Ethernet cards as part of its starter kits.

Bell Canada notes that a high percentage of personal computers purchased today come equipped with an Ethernet card and that such cards are readily available as an add-on component from computer retailers.

Accordingly, the tariff will be revised to eliminate the $100 and $175 service charges associated with the starter kit options that currently include an Ethernet card.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.

Secretary General
