Subject: Comments relating to the INC Recommended

Dear Ms. Travers and Mr. Bench,

This letter is in response to the invitation extended to all national regulators within the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) to provide comments and suggestions to the Industry Numbering Committee (INC) on its "Recommended Plan for Expanding the Capacity of the North American Numbering Plan". In its letter of 21 December 2001, the INC requested that the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission provide its comments and suggestions by 29 March 2002.

The Commission has forwarded INC's report to the Canadian Steering Committee on Numbering NANP Exhaust Working Group and is awaiting its comments on the INC Report. Although the Commission has not been able to respond to the INC by it's requested due date, we expect to be able to provide a response within the next several weeks.

In the meantime, should you have any questions or wish to discuss this further, please contact Brenda Stevens at 819-953-8882 or brenda.stevens@crtc.gc.ca.

Regards,
