To: Interested Parties to Telecom Public Notice CRTC 2001-56 (PN 2001-56) - Operator services - Reverse search directory assistance

In a letter dated 6 February 2002, the Commission invited the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (the Privacy Commissioner) and parties who had participated in the proceeding initiated by PN 2001-56 to comment on the relevance and applicability, if any, of the Privacy Commissioner's report regarding a complaint from Mr. Mathew Englander against Telus Corporation, Telus Communications Inc. and Telus Communications (B.C.) Inc ("Telus").

On 13 February, 2002, the Commission received comments from ARC et al, Aliant Telecom Inc., Bell Canada and MTS Communications Inc., and Saskatchewan Telecommunications. The Commission has not received any reply comments.

On 11 March 2002, the Commission received comments from the Privacy Commissioner in this matter, a copy of which is attached.

In the circumstances, it is considered appropriate to extend the deadline for filing of reply comments to a date five business days from the date of this letter.

Parties are reminded that reply comments must be served, by the filing date, on all parties who participated in this proceeding as well as on the Privacy Commissioner. All documents must actually be received and not merely mailed by the date indicated.

Sincerely,

Shirley Soehn
