Ottawa, 20 February 2002 Dear Committee members, The next meeting of Committee on Bill Management Tools and access to telephone service (BMT Committee) will be held in Gatineau (Hull) Québec, on Tuesday April 9th 2002, at the CRTC (1 Promenade du Portage) in Salon Réal Therrien at 9h30. As set out in the Final Consensus Document that resulted from our 31 July 2001 meeting, we have now reached a broad agreement on how to proceed with a bill management promotional campaign aimed at low-income Canadian households. Accordingly, we may now leave aside the issue of promotion for the moment and concentrate on the package that we are going to promote and on the related issues. Furthermore, any promotional campaign (with the participation of government agencies and departments) will not commence before we reach an agreement on the package and before appropriate contacts and necessary arrangements are made. This is likely to be a fairly lengthy process. Therefore, we have the opportunity now to address other issues of interest to Committee members. Consequently, participants are invited to recommend agenda items for the next meeting. Please do so before 1 March 2002, so that we have time to draft the final agenda and sufficient time is given to the Committee members to prepare adequately for the meeting. Should you have comments on the agenda items proposed by participants, file them within five (5) business days of the receipt. I encourage participants to file their proposals or comments in advance of these dates. I would be grateful if you would limit your proposals to no more than two or three and support each with a short description of its aim. Proposed agenda items and comments on the proposals of others should be sent to all Committee members on the attached list as well as to procedure@crtc.gc.ca. Sincerely,
Philippe Tousignant
