CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee - Consensus items

Several CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee (CISC) working groups submitted a number of consensus reports to the CISC Steering Committee (SC). These reports are available through the Commission's web site. On 4 November 2002, the SC parties approved the reports and referred them for consideration by the Commission.

The Commission has reviewed and approves the following consensus reports:

- Treatment of NXXs of code holders that discontinue service (CNRE026A), dated 19 June 2002. The Canadian Steering Committee on Numbering (CSCN) has reached consensus on amendments to the Canadian Central Office Code (NXX) Assignment Guidelines in order to deal with the issue of numbering resource holdership and transfer of holdership in the event of a business failure.
- Canadian Central Office Code (NXX) Assignment Guidelines (CNRE028A), dated 10 October 2002. The CSCN has reached consensus on amendments to the Canadian Central Office Code (NXX) Assignment Guidelines in order to implement changes that were approved by the Commission in previous consensus reports.
- Account passwords (BPTF0034b), dated 12 September 2002. The Business Process Working Group (BPWG) has reached consensus on interim guidelines for the handling of a transfer of password-protected customer account between local service providers. The guidelines will be reassessed after a period of one year in order to correct any shortcomings.
- Forecasts for unbundled local loops (BPRE011a), dated 12 September 2002. The BPWG has reached consensus on the criteria, data content and format for loop forecasts provided by competitive local exchange carriers to incumbent local exchange carriers.
