Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-407

Ottawa, 6 December 2002

Télévision MBS inc.
Rivière-du-Loup and Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec

Application 2002-0081-6
Public Hearing in the National Capital Region
15 July 2002

CFTF-TV Rivière-du-Loup - New transmitter in Baie-Saint-Paul

1.

The Commission approves the application by Télévision MBS inc. to amend the broadcasting licence for the television programming undertaking CFTF-TV Rivière-du-Loup, an affiliate of the TQS network, in order to operate a transmitter in Baie-Saint-Paul.

2.

The new transmitter will operate on channel 26 with a transmitter power of 50 watts.

It will enable viewers in Baie-Saint-Paul and the surrounding area to receive the programming of the TQS network over the air.

3.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

4.

Given that the technical parameters approved in this decision are for a low-power unprotected TV service, the Commission also reminds the licensee that it will have to select another channel if the Department of Industry so requires.

5.

The transmitter must be operational at the earliest possible date and in any event no later than 24 months from the date of this decision, unless a request for an extension of time is approved by the Commission before 6 December 2004. In order to ensure that such a request is processed in a timely manner, it should be submitted in writing at least 60 days before this date.
