Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-36

Ottawa, 12 February 2002

Alliance Communications Corporation and Shaw Communications Inc. on behalf of a general partnership
Across Canada

Application 2002-0007-2

Extension of time limit to implement a new national video-on-demand service

The Commission approves the application by Alliance Communications Corporation and Shaw Communications Inc., on behalf of a general partnership, for an extension of the time limit to implement its authority for a national video-on-demand service granted by Decision CRTC 97-285, dated 2 July 1997.

The Commission grants the licensee an additional 12 months, until 31 December 2002, to implement this authority.

The licensee's failure to meet this new implementation deadline will cause this authority to become null and void, unless a request for a further extension of time is approved by the Commission before such date.

Once the licensee has informed the Commission in writing that it is prepared to commence operation, the licence for this undertaking will be issued.
