Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-315

Ottawa, 16 October 2002

Shaw Cablesystems Company
Courtenay, Comox, Powell River, British Columbia

Application 2002-0686-4

Deadline to commence operations

1.

The Commission approves the application by Shaw Cablesystems Company for an extension of the time limit to serve the municipality of Black Creek, included in the authorized service area of the cable distribution undertaking serving the above-noted localities in Decision CRTC 2001-444, 26 July 2001.

2.

The Commission grants the licensee an extension until 26 July 2003 to implement this authority.

3.

The licensee's failure to meet this new implementation deadline will cause the authority to become null and void, unless a request for a further extension of time is approved by the Commission before 26 July 2003. In order to ensure that such a request is processed in a timely manner, it should be submitted in writing at least 30 days before this date.

4.

The licensee must inform the Commission of the date of the commencement of operations in the extended area.
