Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-187

Ottawa, 12 July 2002

Friends of Banff National Park Fellowship
Banff, Alberta

Application 2002-0009-8

CFPE-FM Banff - Technical amendment

1.

The Commission approves the application by Friends of Banff National Park Fellowship to decrease the effective radiated power of CFPE-FM Banff from 50 watts to 49 watts.

2.

The frequency will remain unchanged but the channel will be upgraded from an unprotected low power to a protected class A1.

3.

The Department of Industry (the Department) has advised the Commission that, while this application is conditionally technically acceptable, it will only amend the broadcasting certificate when it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.

4.

The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective once the Department has notified the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that its broadcasting certificate will be amended.
