Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-134

Ottawa, 8 May 2002

Denis Benoît, on behalf of a company to be incorporated
Shawinigan, Quebec

Application 2002-0143-4

Power increase for the new developmental campus radio station in Shawinigan

The Commission approves the application by Denis Benoît, on behalf of a company to be incorporated, to increase the effective radiated power (power) of the new developmental campus radio station in Shawinigan, authorized in New developmental campus radio station, Decision CRTC 2001-598, 20 September 2001. This undertaking will operate at a power of five watts instead of one watt as previously approved.

The Department of Industry (the Department) has advised the Commission that, while this application is conditionally technically acceptable, it will only amend the broadcasting certificate when it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.

The Commission reminds the licensee, that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective once the Department has notified the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that its broadcasting certificate will be amended.
