Transfer of ownership and control


The Commission announces that it has approved, by Letter of Authority A00-0143 dated 21 December 2000, the transfer of BCE Media Inc.'s ownership and control of Canal Évasion Inc., licensee of the French-language specialty service Canal Évasion. The change will be effected through the transfer of all of BCE Media Inc.'s voting interest in Canal Évasion Inc. representing 50.1%, to a wholly-owned subsidiary of BCE Inc., 1406236 Ontario Inc.


The Commission notes that BCE Media Inc. also intends to transfer to 1406236 Ontario Inc., its 16% voting interest in the company to be incorporated that will be the licensee and operator of La Télé des Arts, a recently-licensed French-language specialty service.
