CRTC approves CNCI's late payment charge |

On 28 August 2001, Call-Net Communications Inc. (CNCI) submitted an application to the Commission to propose tariff revisions to amend Article 12 of its Terms of Service by introducing a late payment charge. |

The Commission considers that the company's proposal to introduce such a charge is acceptable. However, the Commission is of the view that it would not be appropriate for the new charge to be introduced as an amendment to the Terms of Service. |

Bell Canada filed comments on behalf of itself, Aliant Telecom Inc., MTS Communications Inc. and Saskatchewan Telecommunications, suggesting that CNCI should re-file the proposed tariff reflecting the wording used in the model tariff. |

In reply, CNCI noted that the model tariff did not include provisions for a late payment charge. |

On 28 September 2001, the Commission issued Public Notice CRTC 2001-102, The Commission seeks comments from CLECs on the adoption of the model tariff. The Commission notes that, shortly, it expects to render a determination for this proceeding. |

The Commission approves CNCI's proposal to introduce a late payment charge, with the following change: the proposed tariff revisions are to be listed as Item 103 - Late payment charge of CNCI's General Tariff. |
