On 18 November 2001, Ms. Marie Stark and Mr. Chris Stark (the Starks) filed an application pursuant to s.62 of the Telecommunications Act requesting that the Commission review that part of A Review of Regulatory Framework, Telecom Decision CRTC 94-19, 16 September 1994 (Decision 94-19) dealing with forbearance from the regulation of terminal equipment.
On 12 December 2001, TELUS filed an application requesting an extension to comment on Ms. Stark's Application until 10 January 2002.
On 17 December 2001, Bell Canada filed an application requesting an extension to comment on the Starks' Application until 17 January 2002.
TELUS indicated that they have become aware of the application only on 6 December 2001. Bell indicated that they have become aware of the application only on 11 December 2001. Both Bell Canada and TELUS stated that they were unable to comment the Starks' Application in the required time frame, i.e. 30 days after the application is served.
Bell Canada and TELUS requests are reasonable. Accordingly, parties have until 17 January 2002 to file their comments on the Starks' application. Note that comments should be received not merely sent on that day. Please honour the Starks' request that all documents be sent to them electronically.
