To: Canadian Carriers (in attached list)
Subject: Decision CRTC 2000-745 - Changes to the contribution regime - Disclosure of Telecommunications Service Providers
In the Decision, all telecommunications service providers (TSPs) were directed to file, by 15 January 2001, their estimated 2000 Canadian Telecommunications Services Revenues (CTSR) along with their estimated allowable deductions as well as a list of their related companies.
On 14 February 2001, in response to requests from the industry, a list of the TSPs, who had complied with the Decision, was issued. On that same date, a letter was sent to all TSPs known to the Commission, who had not filed at that time with the Commission reminding them of their obligations under the Decision. To date, approximately 160 TSPs have filed information with the Commission (list attached).
The final 2000 revenues of TSPs will be used to determine the final revenue charge for 2001. In order to determine this final revenue charge, the Commission is requesting the assistance of the industry in identifying all active TSPs prior to the extended filing deadline of 30 April 2001. Therefore, the Commission directs each Canadian carrier file, in confidence, a list of all TSPs that do not appear on the attached list and that have used your facilities to provide telecommunications services in the past year. The list should include the following information: name of the TSP; contact name; telephone number; fax number; email address; and billing address. If the carrier has a designated person or group that has the sole right to access this confidential information, the carrier is required to ensure that this designated person or group file, in confidence, the required information. This information is required to be filed with and received by the Secretary General by 19 April 2001, and not merely mailed by that date.
