LetterFile number: 8622-C67-01/00Ottawa, 5 April 2001 To: Distribution list Re: CanopCo Inc. part VII - Access to directory file and basic listing interchange file (DFS/BLIF) services The Commission today releases Order CRTC 2001-281, in which it approves CanopCo Inc.'s application to access the DFS/BLIF services of local exchange carriers. Please note that the order, among other things, directs all incumbent local exchange carriers and competitive local exchange carriers (other than those independents who are subject to paragraph 17.c) of the order) to show cause, within 30 days, why they should not provide alternative operator service providers with access to BLIF for the sole purpose of providing directory assistance. Yours sincerely,
Shirley Soehn
