Ottawa, 26 November 2001

Mr. Paul A. Ski - Vice-President/General Manager
CHUM Limited

RE: APPROVAL -- Application No.: (2001-0971-1)
CHUM Limited
CHQM-FM Vancouver, British Columbia
Increase in power and the effective antenna height

Dear Mr. Ski:

We are pleased to inform you that the Commission approves your request to increase the effective radiated power from 49,000 watts to 53,000 watts and the effective antenna height from 604 metres to 617.6 metres of the radio programming undertaking CHQM-FM Vancouver, British Columbia

The Commission notes that this change does not result in any significant change in the service contour and the revised contours do not encompass any new markets.

This approval is subject to written receipt from the Department of Industry, within six (6) months of the date of this decision, that it is prepared to amend your Broadcasting Certificate and that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM service and that its technical requirements have been met.

All letters of approval issued by the Commission are made available for public examination at the Commission's central office. The Commission also requires you to append this letter of approval to the licence of your undertaking.

Yours sincerely,

Ursula Menke
Secretary General
