Subject: Application APPROVED:2001-1120-4
Extension of the implementation date to 30 September 2002
Le Réseau des sports inc. - Category 1 French-language Specialty Service, known as Info-Sports - Across Canada

Dear Sir:

This letter is to inform you that the Commission has approved your application to extend the implementation date for the category 1 French-language specialty service known as Info-Sports (formerly Réseau Info Sports).

The Commission grants an extension to 30 September 2002.

The Commission notes, however, that this extension does not relieve you of the responsibility to commence operation of the above-mentioned specialty service as soon as possible.

Should you not be able to commence operation of this specialty service upon expiry of the period stipulated in this decision, or should the Commission deny an application for future extension filed by the licensee, the licence will not be issued.

As stipulated in the decision, this authorization will only be effective and the licence will only be issued at such time as the specialty service is ready to commence operation. Consequently, the applicant is required to notify the Commission, in writing, before the expiry of the ten (10) month extension granted, or any other extension granted, once it is ready to commence operation of the specialty service Info-Sports, so the licence can be issued.

Also note that the Commission does not intend to tie its expectation with respect to distributors as discussed in Public Notice CRTC 2001-82 regarding the launch of foreign French-language specialty services to the extended launch date of your new category 1 services.

Yours truly,

Ursula Menke
Secretary General
