The Commission has received the following applications: |

Sherbrooke, Quebec |
|
Application by the CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION to amend the licence of CBM-FM-1 Sherbrooke. |
|
|
The licensee proposes to increasethe effective radiated power from 23,400 to 25,000 watts and to relocate its transmitter to a site in Fleurimont, Quebec. |
|
|
The licensee indicates that relocating its transmitter at its existing TV and FM transmitter site located in Fleurimont near Sherbrooke will prove less costly while ensuring that the same coverage objectives will be met. |
|
|
The addition of a transmitter in Sherbrooke was approved in Decision CRTC 1999-466 and an extension of time to implement was also granted in Decision letter A00-0109 dated 17 October 2000. It is noted that the authority for this transmitter has not yet been implemented pending the outcome of the current application. |

London and Ottawa, Ontario |
|
Applications by CROSSROADS TELEVISION SYSTEM to amend the licence of CITS-TV Hamilton, Burlington, St. Catharines and Toronto, Ontario. |
|
|
The licensee proposes to add transmitters at London and Ottawa to broadcast the programming of CITS-TV Hamilton. |
|
|
The transmitter at London will operate on channel 63 with an effective radiated power of 3,000 watts. |
|
|
The transmitter at Ottawa will operate on channel 32 with an effective radiated power of 54,000 watts. |
|
|
The applicant states that its goal is to provide the same religious programming alternative in the cities of London and Ottawa and to expand its regional market. |
|
|
The applicant also states that, since no local advertising will be solicitated and that it will continue to adhere to the local programming commitments of its existing licence, there will be no undue harm to local broadcasters. |
|
|
The applicant states that it is prepared to waive its entitlement to basic band cable carriage in Ottawa and London, so long as cable operators place its service on a cable channel no higher than channel 36. |

Application by CTV TELEVISION INC. to amend the licence of CFCN-TV. |
|
|
The licensee proposes to increase the effective radiated power from 55,000 to 100,000watts. |
|
|
The existing transmitting tower has to be replaced. The old directional antenna will also be replaced with a new non-directional antenna, resulting in the power increase and a minor increase in the coverage area. |
