The Commission approves the Memorandum of Understanding between three telcos, the central funds administrator and the Canadian Portable Contribution Consortium Inc. |

In Decision CRTC 2000-745, Changes to the contribution regime, dated 30 November 2000, the Commission directed the Canadian Portable Contribution Consortium Inc. (CPCC), the corporation that oversees the administration of the central funds, to establish central funds, effective 1 January 2001, for Saskatchewan Telecommunications, Québec-Téléphone (now known as TELUS Communications (Québec) Inc.) and Télébec ltée (the parties) so they can participate in the contribution regime approved by the decision. |

The mandate of the New Central Fund Working Group, one of several groups established to assist the Commission in the implementation details of the new contribution regime, was to develop the procedure related to the establishment of the new central funds and the reporting and payment/remittance method for the first quarter period of 2001. |

At a joint meeting held on 17 May 2001, the Contribution Collection Mechanism Co-ordination Committee and the CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee members reached a consensus on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that sets out the procedure related to the establishment of the new central funds, and the reporting and payment/remittance method for the first quarter period of 2001 for the parties. The Commission hereby approves the Memorandum of Understanding between Progestic International Inc., the administrator of the central funds, the CPCC and the parties. |
