Order CRTC 2001-735

Ottawa, 21 September 2001

TELUS Communications (Québec) Inc.
Reference: Québec-Téléphone Tariff notice 291

Multi-element service charges

1.

Québec-Téléphone filed an application to modify its multi-element service charges.

2.

Québec-Téléphone indicated it wanted to modify these charges to bring them to their compensatory level. The company also indicated that it wanted to standardize the multi-element service charges for residential and business services to make it easier for Customer Services to administer client accounts.

3.

The Commission is concerned about the lack of costing information, which raises doubts as to whether the proposed rates with respect to business service are compensatory.

4.

Accordingly, the Commission denies the application.

Secretary General
