2001 Depreciation life characteristics for Amtelecom Inc.

1.

The Commission has reviewed the depreciation life characteristics submitted by Amtelecom Inc. on 4 June 2001.

2.

The Commission finds the proposed depreciation life characteristics to be reasonable, with the exception of the C.O.E. (Central Office Equipment) Power Equipment account.

3.

In light of the equipment retirements and the investment mix in the C.O.E. Power Equipment account, the Commission finds that an average service life (ASL) of 10 years for that account would be more appropriate than the 7.5 year ASL proposed by the company.

4.

Accordingly, the Commission orders that the accounts listed in the attached Table be depreciated, effective 1 January 2001, using the depreciation life characteristics contained therein.
