The station would rebroadcast almost entirely the programming of CIRA-FM Montréal, Quebec. One hour per week of spoken word programming concerning the Outaouais region would be broadcast from Montréal.

 

This application was first scheduled to be heard at a public hearing on 30 October 2000 (Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 2000-8, 25 August 2000) but was withdrawn upon receipt of interventions.

 

Subsequently, the Commission issued a call on 8 November 2000 (Public Notice CRTC 2000-153). The Commission then extended, on November 29, 2000 (Public Notice CRTC
2000-153-1), the deadline for submitting applications.

 

The Commission will consider the interventions already received, accepted and filed on the public file for the 30 October 2000 hearing (Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 2000-8 dated 25 August 2000) as well as other interventions received in the context of this Public Hearing.

The applicant states that approval of this application would result in CKOL-FM providing a stronger and more reliable signal to adjoining towns in rural Northumberland County.

 

The Commission wishes to advise that the above-mentioned application which was published in Public Notice CRTC 2000-110 dated 25 July 2000 is now scheduled at this Public Hearing.
