The applicant proposes to distribute, as part of the basic service, local community programming; the services of the CBC French-language television network and the APTN, CTV, Knowledge, Access and SCN networks; several Canadian specialty services; the U.S. (4+1) network services ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and FOX; and several radio programming services. |
|||
South Cariboo also proposes to distribute, on a discretionary basis, the Canadian pay television service of Superchannel and the specialty service of Bravo. The complete list of services is included in the application. |
|||
Also, the applicant is requesting to be relieved, by condition of licence, of the requirement of section 32(1) of the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations to distribute the local signals of CHWS-TV-1 and CILY-TV-1 which rebroadcast the programming services of CFJC-TV (CBC) and CHKM-TV (CTV) Kamloops, British Columbia. |

The applicant indicates that the above-noted local signals are of very poor quality. |

PROPOSED FEE |
|||
The applicant proposes to charge a basic monthly fee of $25.00. For Class 3 licensees, the basic monthly fee is not regulated pursuant to the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations. |
|||
The Commission will only proceed with this application at the public hearing if advised by the Department of Industry, at least ten days prior to the hearing, that acceptable technical documentation has been filed with the Department. |
