Subject: Part VII application - Contribution related matters
In a letter dated 29 June 2001, Aliant Telecom Inc., Bell Canada, MTS Communications Inc. and Saskatchewan Telecommunications (collectively the Companies) filed a Part VII application seeking clarification from the Commission on contribution related matters to take effect in 2002 and inviting comments from interested parties.
Commission staff encourages all interested parties to respond to the Companies invitation. In that respect, Commission staff is sending this note to all Telecommunications Service Providers (TSPs) that will potentially be impacted by the outcome of this application. Consequently, in order to provide appropriate time to TSPs just receiving notification of this application and to develop an interested parties list in relation with this application, the filing dates are revised as follows:
Comments from interested parties: 30 July 2001
Reply comments: 14 August 2001
Parties wishing to participate must notify the Commission of their intention to do so, by 20 July 2001. These parties should contact the Secretary General by mail at CRTC, Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0N2, by fax at (819) 953-0795; or by email at procedure@crtc.gc.ca. They are to indicate in the notice their email address, where available. The Commission will issue, shortly thereafter, a complete list of interested parties.
Parties are requested to file their comments with the Commission (as indicated above), serving copies on all parties on the interested parties list referred to above. Comments must be received by the above noted dates not merely mail on those dates.
