Decision CRTC 2001-568

Ottawa, 5 September 2001

Radio Nord Communications inc.
Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec 2001-0721-0

Application processed by
Public Notice CRTC 2001-87
dated 31 July 2001

Licence amendment

1.

The Commission approves the application by Radio Nord Communications inc. to amend the condition of licence for CHLM-FM Rouyn-Noranda, by decreasing from 95% to 85% the percentage of all musical selections that the station must devote to French-language vocal music.

2.

CHLM-FM is affiliated to the CBC's French-language radio network, La Première Chaîne. In Decision CRTC 2000-2 which renewed the broadcasting licence for La Première Chaîne, the Commission authorized a reduction in the level of French-language vocal music that it must broadcast from 95% to 85%. The licensee submitted this application to bring CHLM-FM's French-language vocal music requirement in line with that imposed on La Première Chaîne.
