Decision CRTC 2001-450

Ottawa, 26 July 2001

Sent by fax: (780) 624-5424

Mr. Terry J. Babiy
President
Peace River Broadcasting Corporation Ltd.
Bag 300
Peace River, Alberta
T8S 1T5

Dear Mr. Babiy:

Application No's: 2001-0757-5 & 2001-0758-3 - Approved
Extension of time limit to 4 July 2002 to implement two new FM transmitters at Valleyview, Alberta -
Peace River Broadcasting Corporation Ltd.

This is further to your request of 4 July 2001, for an extension of the time limit to implement two FM transmitters at Valleyview, Alberta to rebroadcast the programming of its two stations, CKYL and CKKX-FM Peace River, as approved in Decision CRTC 2000-216 dated 4 July 2000.

Please be advised that the Commission approves your request and hereby grants a twelve-month extension of the time limit, namely until 4 July 2002.

This extension does not of course, relieve you of your responsibility to implement the transmitters at Valleyview at the earliest possible date.

Should the completion of new installations not be completed within the period stipulated in this letter or, should the Commission refuse to approve an extension requested by the licensee, the licences will not be amended.

As stipulated in the approval decision, the authority will only be effective and the licences will only be amended when the new transmitters are constructed and ready to begin operation. Consequently, the applicant is required to advise the Commission, in writing, once it has completed construction and is prepared to commence operation, at which time, the Commission will amend the licences.

The Commission also requires you to append this decision to the licence of your undertakings or, in the case where a licence has not yet been issued, at the original decision granting you a licence.

Sincerely,

Ursula Menke
Secretary General
