Re: Application 2001-0573-5 - Approved -
Extension to 16 November 2001
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation - CBSI-FM Sept-Îles, Quebec
Addition of an FM transmitter at Fermont, Quebec

Dear Madam:

We are pleased to inform you that the Commission has approved your application to extend the implementation date for an FM transmitter at Fermont to offer the programming of the Première Chaîne

The Commission has granted a six (6)-month extension, namely until 16 November 2001.

This extension does not, however, relieve you of the responsibility to complete the construction and implement the new transmitter at an earlier date.

Should the work not be completed within the period stipulated in this decision or should the Commission deny an application for extension filed by the licensee, the licence will not be amended.

As stipulated in the decision, the authorization will only be effective and the licence will only be amended at such time as the transmitter is constructed and ready to begin operation. Consequently, the applicant is required to notify the Commission, in writing, before 16 November 2001, once it has completed construction of the transmitter and is prepared to commence operation, so its licence can be amended.

The Commission requires that this decision be appended to the licence of your undertaking or, where a licence has not yet been issued, to the original decision granting you a licence.

Yours truly,

Ursula Menke

Secretary General
