Special events licence

1. 9;

The Commission approves the application for a French-language Type B FM community radio programming undertaking in the Ottawa-Hull region. The new station will broadcast "Radio Jeunesse 2001", from 24 June to 24 July 2001, during the "IVes Jeux de la Francophonie" and the "Super Francofête".

2. 9;

The licence will only be effective for the duration of the event, from 24 June to 24 July 2001. It will be subject to the conditions specified in Public Notice CRTC 2000-13 entitled Community radio policy and Public Notice 2000-157 entitled New licence form for community radio stations.

3. 9;

The station will operate on frequency 89.9 MHz, channel 210A, with an effective radiated power of 900 watts.

4. 9;

The Department of Industry has advised the Commission that this application is conditionally technically acceptable. The Department will only issue a broadcasting certificate once it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.

5. 9;

In accordance with section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission will only issue the licence and grant the authority to operate when it receives notification fromthe Department of Industry that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
