Decision CRTC 2001-224

Ottawa, 18 April 2001

By fax (867) 766-3314

Ms. Christine Cadet
CIVR Director
L'Association Franco-Culturelle de Yellowknife
5016 - 48th Street
Yellowknife, N.W.T.

Subject: Application no. 2001-0446-4 - Approved
Extension of time limit to 28 October 2001
L'Association Franco-Culturelle de Yellowknife - Yellowknife, N.W.T.

Dear Ms. Cadet:

We are pleased to inform you that the Commission has approved your request for an extension of the time limit to implement the radio programming undertaking CIVR-FM at Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

The Commission informs you that you have been granted a six-month extension, namely, until 28 October 2001.

This extension, however, does not exempt you from your responsibilities to complete construction and implement the radio programming undertaking CIVR-FM sooner than that.

If the work has not been completed at the end of the period granted in this decision, or if the Commission refuses to approve an application for extension on the part of the licence holder, the licence will not be issued.

As stipulated in the decision, the authority will only be effective and the licence will only be issued at such time as the construction of the undertaking is completed and it is prepared to commence operation. Consequently, the applicant is required to advise the Commission, in writing, prior to the expiration of the period of six (6) months or any extension granted, as soon as the construction of the undertaking is completed and the applicant is prepared to begin operation, in order that the licence for the undertaking may be issued.

The Commission requires that you append this decision to the licence for your undertaking or, if the licence has not been issued, to the decision granting you a licence.

Yours truly,

Ursula Menke
Secretary General
