Decision CRTC 2001-220

00DR46-4
00DR47-4

Ottawa, 12 April 2001

Mr. Michael H. Caine
President
CHWO Radio Limited
The Broadcast Centre
284 Church Street
Oakville, ON L6J 7N2

Dear Sir:

Re: Applications: 2001-0418-3; 2001-0426-6 - Approval
Extension of Time Limit to September 22, 2001
CHWO Radio Limited and CJMR 1320 Radio Ltd., Toronto

We are pleased to inform you that the Commission approves your request for an extension of time limit to implement the above-noted digital radio programming undertakings at Toronto.

The Commission grants a six-month extension of time limit to implement these services, namely until September 22, 2001.

This extension does not, of course, relieve you of your responsibility to implement the authority to operate these radio programming undertakings at the earliest possible date.

Should the completion of the new installations not be effected within the period stipulated in this decisionor, should the Commission refuse to approve any further extension requested by the licensee, the authority granted shall lapse and become null and void.

As stipulated in the approval decision, the authorities will only be effective and the licences will only be issued at such time as the construction of the undertakings is completed and they commence operation. Consequently, the applicant is required to advise the Commission, in writing, once it has completed construction and is prepared to commence operation of the undertakings, at which time, the Commission will issue the licences.

The Commission requires you to append this decision to the original decision granting these licences.

Sincerely,

[Diane Rheaume, for]
Ursula Menke
Secretary General
