Ottawa, 28 February 2001 |

Radio CFXU Club |
Application processed by Public Notices CRTC 2000-112 dated 4 August 2000 and CRTC 2000-112-1 dated 29 September 2000 |
Licence renewal for CFXU |
1. 9; |
The Commission renews the licence for CFXU Antigonish, a student carrier current radio programming undertaking serving the campus and adjacent residences of St. Francis Xavier University, from 1 March 2001 to 31 August 2007, subject to conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued. |
2. 9; |
The licensee has proposed to devote 92 hours per week to English-language programming and 2 hours to French-language programming. |
3. 9; |
The renewal of this licence follows the new Campus radio policy, set out in Public Notice CRTC 2000-12 dated 28 January 2000. In that notice, the Commission stated that "licensed carrier current stations will continue to be subject to the applicable regulatory requirements. The Commission will also require the licensees of such stations to adhere to the same advertising restrictions that apply to campus stations." |
4. 9; |
Therefore, it is a condition of licence that the licensee broadcast, during each broadcast week, no more than 504 minutes of advertising (content category 5), with a maximum of 4 minutes in any hour of the broadcast week. |
5. 9; |
The Commission notes that, at the time the renewal application was filed, the station's board of directors complied with the new policy. The Commission expects the licensee to submit any relevant information concerning newly-elected representatives, specifying which group each board member represents, no later than 30 June 2001. |
6. 9; |
The Commission reminds the licensee that, in accordance with the requirements of the Direction to the CRTC (Eligible Canadian Corporations), the chairman or other presiding officer and each of the directors or other similar officers of the licensee must be Canadian citizens. |
