To: Mr. Pat Olive - and -
Mr. Robert Smith - and - Interested Parties to Telecom Public Notice CRTC 2000-67 Re: Telecom Public Notice CRTC 2000-67 (PN 2000-67) - Request for Extension On 5 June 2000, electronic messages were received from Mr. Robert Smith, on behalf of the Greater Toronto Economic Development Partnership (GTA EDP), and Mr. Pat Olive, on behalf of the Region of Durham, requesting, among other things, an extension to the date for filing comments in the above proceeding to give these parties more time to develop and file comments on the issues raised in this proceeding. In the circumstances, a short extension is appropriate. Accordingly, the revised schedule is as follows:
Comments due 15 June 2000 In addition to the request for extension, Mr. Smith requested that the GTA EDP 1) be added to the list of Interested Parties, 2) be granted "Official Standing" and 3) be allowed to make a submission at a formal hearing. Mr. Olive also requested that the Region of Durham Economic Development and Tourism Department be allowed to make a presentation to CRTC. Both the GTA EDP and the Region of Durham will be added to the list of interested parties to this proceeding. In order to effect this change, representatives from these organizations are requested to submit their contact information via email to procedures@crtc.gc.ca no later than the end of business on 8 June 2000. The process established in PN 2000-67 is a written one and does not contemplate oral presentations by parties. Accordingly, the GTA EDP and the Region of Durham are requested to provide their submissions in writing, consistent with the procedures set out in PN 2000-67. Parties are reminded that, consistent with paragraph 27 of PN 2000-67, all submissions to the Commission must be in hard copy form. In addition to the hard copy filings, parties are encouraged, as noted in paragraph 27 of PN 2000-67, to file electronic versions of their submissions in accordance with the Commission’s Interim Telecom Guidelines for the Handling of Machine-Readable Files, dated 30 November 1995. Further, parties are reminded that they are required to serve a copy of their comments and reply comments on all other parties and that such submissions must be actually received, not merely sent, by the dates set out above. Yours sincerely,
Shirley Soehn |
