Re: Local Competition, Telecom Decision CRTC 97-8, 1 May 1997 (Decision 97-8): Follow-Up Process – CRTC Industry Steering Committee Consensus Items

Dear Sir or Madam:

Several Working-Groups of the CRTC Industry Steering Committee (CISC) submitted various consensus reports to the CISC Steering Committee (SC) (See Attachment 1). The reports were placed on the CRTC’s website. The SC parties confirmed the consensus reports and forwarded them to the Commission for consideration.

The Commission has reviewed the reports and approves the consensus reports noted in the attachment.

Yours sincerely,

Ursula Menke,
Secretary General

Att.

Consensus Report Description
Consensus on Canadian Local Ordering Guidelines (C-LOG) V5 (BPRE009e) submitted by the Business Process Working Group (BPWG) and adopted by the SC on 13 April 2000. The BPWG completed all activities and reached consensus on the documentation and guidelines captured in the next release of the C-LOG-Version 5.

Consensus on the Industry Process Maps for Customer Migration Involving Resale (BPRE006a) submitted by the BPWG and adopted by the SC on 12 November 1999

The BPWG recommended that the industry adopt Version 6 of "Customer Migration Process for Canadian Implementation of Local Competition, Part IV, Primary Processes (Resale)", dated 26 May 1999, contingent upon a review of the report by all registered resellers. Such review took place in February and March 2000. No comments were received.
Consensus on Canadian Data Interchange Guidelines (CDIG) V2.1 (BPRE010c) submitted by the BPWG and adopted by the SC on 13 April 2000. The BPWG has achieved consensus on the revised version of the Canadian Data Interchange Guidelines.

An interim version of these Guidelines was published on the CRTC website in June 1999 (BPRE009d) to incorporate additional data interfaces since the initial issuance of the document in December 1997. This new version of the Guidelines includes further clarifications and refinements, which were prompted by industry experience over the past 6-12 months, and replaces any existing version of the CDIG.

Consensus on Installation, Testing, and Maintenance Guidelines for Local Trunk Interconnection and the associated Guidelines (NORE009A) submitted by the Network Operations Working Group (NOWG) and adopted by the SC on 13 April 2000. The NOWG has completed its review of Installation, Testing, and Maintenance Guidelines for Local Trunk Interconnection and the associated Guidelines and reached consensus on the updated version.
