Application (1999-1842-1) by CANAL ÉVASION INC. to amend the condition of licence of the French-language television specialty service known as "Canal Évasion", relative to spending on Canadian programs. |
|||
At present, the licensee must devote at least $4,489,000 to investment in Canadian programs or their acquisition during the course of the broadcasting year following the first year of operation and, for each subsequent year of broadcasting, at least 50 percent of the gross revenue derived from the operation of the service during the previous year. |
|||
The licensee is applying to have its condition of licence amended to read as follows: "The licensee shall devote to investment in Canadian programs or their acquisition in its second year of operation and during each subsequent year of broadcasting, at least 50 percent of the gross revenue derived from the operation of the service during the previous year." |

(Newcap) for authority to transfer effective control and ownership of all issued and outstanding shares of Humber Valley Broadcasting Company Limited, licensee of radio stations CFCB Corner Brook and its transmitters CFDL-FM Deer Lake, CFNW Port-aux-Choix, CFNN-FM St. Anthony; CFSX Stephenville; CFGN Channel-Port-aux-Basques and its transmitter CFCV-FM St. Andrew's, Newfoundland; and CFLN Goose Bay and its transmitters CFLW Wabush, CFLC-FM Churchill Falls, Labrador. |

If approved, the proposed transaction will result in Newcap assuming ownership and control of almost all of the commercial radio stations in Newfoundland, except the radio network operated by Newfoundland Broadcasting Company (CHOZ-FM). As a result, Newcap will garner more than 80% of the commercial radio advertising sales in the province. |

The licensee proposes to add an FM radio transmitter to rebroadcast CINC-FM Thompson. |

The transmitter will operate on frequency 91.5 MHz (channel 218C) with an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts. The proposal would require an amendment to the broadcasting licence for CINC-FM. |

Application (2000-1805-3) by the CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORPORATION. |
|||
This application is a request to amend the broadcasting licence of radio station CBCV-FM Victoria, by decreasing the effective radiated power from 3,190 to 3,000 watts. |
|||
The licensee also proposes to increase the height of the transmitting antenna due to the hilly terrain. This change will improve the current reception problems. |
