2000 Price Cap

The Commission approves MTS's request to:
  • increase residence rates to recover a portion of its local competition start-up and local number portability costs as permitted by Order CRTC 2000-143 dated 23 February 2000;
  • increase rates for channels for occasional radio program service; and
  • decrease the rates for individual line business and multi-line business services, Megalink public switched telephone network connectivity, and Digital Exchange Access service.
The Commission received comments from subscribers opposing the proposed rate increases.
MTS filed this application on 31 March 2000 to revise Items 475, 1990 and 2000, of its General Tariff and Items 5100 and 6700 of its Supplementary Tariff Special Services and Facilities.
These revisions take effect on the date of this order.
