Order CRTC 2000-260

Ottawa, 10 April 2000
TELUS Communications Inc.

Tariff Notice 199

Anonymous Caller Identification market trial

The Commission denies TCI's request for a market trial of an enhancement to the Call Display Plus feature called Anonymous Caller Identification.
TCI proposed to make the trial package available to all customers in the province of Alberta.

The Commission notes that consistent with Telecom Order CRTC 95-453, dated 12 April 1995, market trials should have a limited number of participants. In the Commission's view, the company has not justified the wide scope of its proposed trial, and as such the offering does not qualify as a market trial.
TCI filed this application on 9 February 2000  to introduce Item 725 to its General Tariff.
