TELUS Communications (B.C.) Inc. Tariff Notice 4029
No Limits Personal Call Management Services (PCMS) Family Extension and Message Monitor Promotion
1.
The Commission denies the company's proposed promotion to provide residential No Limits PCMS customers who subscribe to Call Answer, to also receive Family Extension and Message Monitor at no charge for the promotional period. The company also proposed to waive service charges for Integrated Voice Messaging Services that would be subscribed to as a result of the promotion.
2.
The Commission considers that the proposed promotion is not substantially different from the current No Limits PCMS 6th Month Free Promotion (approved in Telecom Order CRTC 99-216 dated 9 March 1999, and revised in Telecom Order CRTC 99-672 dated 16 July 1999). As the promotions are not substantially different, the combined promotional period is considered. In this case, it would substantially exceed the twelve-month period that the Commission considers to be appropriate for short-term promotions, without an acceptable imputation test.
3.
The company filed its application on 13 January 2000 to revise Items 143 and 168-A of the General Tariff.
