Order CRTC 2000-157

Ottawa, 25 February 2000
TELUS Communications (B.C.) Inc.
Tariff Notice 4032
Anonymous Caller Identification market trial
The Commission denies TCBC's request for a market trial of an enhancement to the Call Display Plus feature called Anonymous Caller Identification.
TCBC proposed to make the trial package available to all customers in British Columbia.
The Commission notes that consistent with Telecom Order CRTC 95-453, dated 12 April 1995, market trials should have a limited number of participants. In the Commission's view, the company has not justified the wide scope of its proposed trial, and as such the offering does not qualify as a market trial.
TCBC filed its application on 26 January 2000 to revised its General Tariff Item 139.
