Further to its Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 2000-11 dated 24 November 2000 relating to the Public Hearing which will be held on 30 January 2001, at the Commission Headquarters, 1 Promenade du Portage, Hull, Quebec, the Commission announces the following: |

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ontario |
|
Application (2000-2034-7) by JOHN ELLIOTT for a broadcasting licence to carry on a low power English-language FM radio programming undertaking at Sault Ste-Marie. The new station would operate on frequency 96.3 MHz (channel 242LP) with an effective radiated power of 50 watts. |
|
The applicant proposes to operate a tourist information service consisting of pre-recorded welcome messages, paid advertising and general information relating to the tourist sites and events in and around the City of Sault Ste. Marie. |
|
The Commission will only proceed with this application at the public hearing if advised by the Department of Industry, at least ten days prior to the hearing, that it is technically acceptable. |
