Ottawa, 14 December 2000

Telemedia Radio Inc.
St. Albert, Alberta - 200019150

30 October 2000 Public Hearing
in Calgary

Transfer of the assets of CFMG-FM

The Commission approves the application by Telemedia Radio Inc. for authority to transfer the assets of the radio programming undertaking CFMG-FM St. Albert to Telemedia Radio (West) Inc.

1.

This transfer is part of a corporate reorganization. Telemedia Radio (West) Inc., Princeton Broadcasting Limited and Copper Island Broadcasting Ltd. are amalgamating under the name of Telemedia Radio (West) Inc. Telemedia Radio Inc. is transferring the assets of CFMG-FM to the new entity. This transaction will not change the effective control or ownership of Telemedia Radio (West) Inc.

2.

Upon surrender of the current licence, the Commission will issue a licence to Telemedia Radio (West) Inc., expiring 31 August 2002, the current expiry date. The licence will be subject to the conditions set out in the licence to be issued, as also set out in Public Notice CRTC 1999-137. The licence will also be subject to the following condition:

The licensee is authorized, by condition of licence, to continue to use a subsidiary communications multiplex operation (SCMO) channel for the purpose of distributing a commercial service consisting of Indo-Pakistani programming in at least four languages. The Commission expects the licensee to adhere to the guidelines set out in Public Notice CRTC 1989-23.

3.

The Commission notes that this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act that came into effect on 24 October 1996 and therefore files reports concerning employment equity with Human Resources Development Canada.
