Military Television |
|
|
On 24 November 2000, the Commission approved a Category 2 specialty television service to be known as Military Television. The terms and conditions generally applicable to Category 2 services are set out in the public notice accompanying this and other decisions released today. |

Conditions of licence |
|
|
The licence, when issued, will expire 31 August 2007 and will be subject to the following conditions as well as to those set out in both Public Notice CRTC 2000-171 andin the licence to be issued. |

Nature of service |
|
|
a) The licensee shall provide a national English-language Category 2 specialty television service featuring programs related to the history, analysis and dramatization of armed conflict and military matters, peacekeeping, and warfare throughout the world. Programming will consist of series, feature films, drama, documentaries and information as well as analysis and magazine style programs. |

|
b) The programming must be drawn exclusively from the following categories, as set out in Schedule I to the Specialty Services Regulations, 1990: |

c) All drama programming on Military Television must have armed conflict, the military, peacekeeping and/or warfare in its central theme. |

Definitions |
|
|
Broadcast day shall have the same meaning as that set out in section 2 of the Television Broadcasting Regulations, 1987. |
