Kitchener, Ontario - 200017039

Application processed by
Public Notice CRTC 2000-134
dated 22 September 2000

Increase in power for CHYM-FM

1.

The Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CHYM-FM Kitchener, by increasing the average effective radiated power from 74,000 watts to 100,000 watts.

2.

The proposed change results from optimization of the transmitting antenna pattern and will improve the coverage of CHYM-FM's signal in the Burlington-Hamilton area.

3.

The Commission authorizes the licensee to operate the undertaking on the basis of the contours and particulars resulting from the above-mentioned change.

4.

The Department of Industry has advised that this application is conditionally technically acceptable, subject to determination that there will be no unacceptable interference with NAV/COM services. When the Department has certified that a broadcasting certificate has been or will be issued, the amendment approved in this decision will be valid (section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act).
