Increase in power for CHYM-FM |

1. |
The Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CHYM-FM Kitchener, by increasing the average effective radiated power from 74,000 watts to 100,000 watts. |

2. |
The proposed change results from optimization of the transmitting antenna pattern and will improve the coverage of CHYM-FM's signal in the Burlington-Hamilton area. |

3. |
The Commission authorizes the licensee to operate the undertaking on the basis of the contours and particulars resulting from the above-mentioned change. |

The Department of Industry has advised that this application is conditionally technically acceptable, subject to determination that there will be no unacceptable interference with NAV/COM services. When the Department has certified that a broadcasting certificate has been or will be issued, the amendment approved in this decision will be valid (section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act). |
