Six-month renewals

1.

The Commission renews the broadcasting licences held by TVOntario for the following undertakings, from 1 September 2000 to 28 February 2001, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licences:
  • the English-language educational television programming undertaking CICA-TV Toronto and its transmitters
  • the French-language educational television programming undertaking TFO and its associated transmitters
  • the television programming undertaking broadcasting coverage of the Ontario Legislative Assembly.

The Commission announced the applications for the renewal of these licences in Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 2000-7 dated 14 July 2000. However, it cannot rule on these applications before the current licences expire.

These administrative renewals do not dispose of the renewal applications, nor of any substantive issues that may exist with respect to the renewal of these licences. The Commission will issue a decision on the licence renewal applications at a later date.
