Decision CRTC 2000-19
Ottawa, 19 January 2000
Craig Broadcast Systems Inc.
Portage la Prairie/Winnipeg and Dauphin, Manitoba - 199905527
16 November 1999 Public Hearing  in Saskatoon
Addition of a transmitter of CHMI-TV at Dauphin

1.

The Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for the television programming undertaking CHMI-TV Portage la Prairie/Winnipeg (the originating station), by authorizing the licensee to add a transmitter at Dauphin, operating on channel 6, with an effective radiated power of 44,000 watts.

2.

This transmitter will enable viewers in Dauphin, Swan River and the surrounding area, to receive programming originating from CHMI-TV Portage la Prairie.

3.

The authority will only be effective and the licence will only be amended when the new transmitter is constructed and ready to begin operation. When the licensee has completed construction and is prepared to commence operation, it must advise the Commission in writing. If the transmitter is not constructed and ready to operate within 12 months of
today’s date, extensions to this time frame may be granted provided that the licensee applies in writing to the Commission before the 12-month period or any extension of that period expires.
