The Commission has received the following applications:
WESTERN CANADA AND TERRITORIES REGION
1. EDMONTON (PART OF) AND AREA, Alberta
Application (199905692) by SHAW CABLESYSTEMS LTD. to temporarily amend the broadcasting licence for the cable distribution undertaking serving part of Edmonton and area during the Children's Miracle Network Telethon. The telethon is scheduled from 7:00 p.m. on 5 June 1999 to 4:00 p.m. on 6 June 1999.
The requested amendment would allow Shaw to interrupt the carriage of the telethon on KXLY-TV Spokane, Washington, in order to broadcast the locally-produced segments of the telethon from CITV-TV Edmonton and CITV-TV-1 Red Deer.
A condition of licence would be required to relieve Shaw from the requirement of subsection 7(a) of the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations which states in part that:
"A licensee shall not alter or delete a programming service in the course of its distribution except
(a) as authorized under a condition of its licence..."

Intervention
IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED BY THE COMMISSION AND PLACED ON THE PUBLIC FILE,
- submit your original written intervention to the Secretary General of the Commission (CRTC, Ottawa, K1A 0N2). A true copy MUST be sent to the applicant and proof that this has been done must accompany the original intervention sent to the Commission.

Each paragraph of the document should be numbered. However, your intervention and the proof of service to the applicant will also have to be filed in hard copy;
